Terms and Conditions for Participants

These Terms and Conditions apply to all participants attending the 2nd Afrodescendant Entrepreneurs Meeting in Cape Verde, which will be held on 27th, 28th, and 29th June 2025, in the city of Praia, Santiago. By registering and making payment to attend the event, you agree to the following terms:

1. Registration and Payment

1.1. Your participation in the event will only be confirmed upon full payment of the event fee.
1.2. The payment includes:

  • Access to all event sessions and activities over the three days.

  • Transfers from and to the airport, as well as daily transportation between the hotel and the event venue.

  • Catering services, including coffee breaks and lunches.

  • Entry to the Networking Dinner with cultural activities.
    1.3. Payments are non-refundable except in the circumstances outlined in Section 6 below

2. Participant Responsibilities

2.1. Participants must provide accurate and complete information during registration.
2.2. Participants are responsible for arranging and covering the costs of their accommodation unless included in a specific package.
2.3. Participants are required to respect the schedule of the event and follow instructions provided by organisers and staff.
2.4. Any damage caused by a participant to the event venue, transport, or equipment will be the responsibility of the participant.

 

3. Event Schedule and Programme

3.1. The organisers reserve the right to modify the event schedule, speakers, or activities at any time without prior notice.
3.2. Any significant changes will be communicated to participants promptly.

 

4. Code of Conduct

4.1. Participants are expected to behave professionally and respectfully towards others at all times.
4.2. Any inappropriate behaviour, including harassment, discrimination, or disruption, will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the event without a refund.

 

5. Intellectual Property

5.1. All presentations, materials, and content provided during the event remain the intellectual property of the organisers or respective speakers.
5.2. Participants may not record, distribute, or reproduce event content without prior written permission.

 

6. Cancellations and Refunds

6.1. The organisers reserve the right to cancel or postpone the event due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to natural disasters, political instability, or public health emergencies.
6.2. In the event of cancellation, participants will receive a full refund of the event fee.
6.3. If the event is postponed, participants’ registrations will automatically be transferred to the new dates. No refunds will be issued for postponements.

 

7. Health and Safety

7.1. Participants are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary travel documents, vaccinations, and health insurance required for travel to Cape Verde.
7.2. The organisers will implement all necessary measures to ensure a safe environment but are not liable for any health-related incidents during the event.

 

8. Media and Photography

8.1. By attending the event, participants grant permission to the organisers to capture and use photographs or videos for promotional purposes.
8.2. Participants who do not wish to be photographed or recorded must inform the organisers in advance.

 

9. Liability

9.1. The organisers are not liable for any personal injury, loss, or damage to personal belongings during the event.
9.2. The organisers are not responsible for any delays, cancellations, or disruptions caused by third-party services, including airlines and transport providers.

 

10. Governing Law

10.1. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Cape Verde. Any disputes arising will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Cape Verde.

By completing your registration and payment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
